Glareshield           Project J

This is my first project.  Sorry but it is not for sale :-)

I designed this for PS1 and FS98.  Especially, with FS98, autopilot data can be transferred from FS98 to my glareshield, so I can read synchronized "real time" data on my panel.  This function can be realized with help of Peter Dowson's EPIC95 driver.

I thank Peter Dowson for great EPIC95 driver, Ralph Robinson (R&R Electronics) and E-chan (author of NavDash) for their advice.

Now my system is running under FS2000 and Schiratti's PFD.  These softwares gave me more reality.

Running with Microsoft Flightsimulator98. Autopilot, etc. , are available. Of course, 7 segments LEDs and LEDs on several push switches are synchronized with FS98.

I tried to copy the glareshield part of a Boeing 747-400 glass cockpit. I forgot to attach AP DISENGAGE bar when I took this photo :-)

View from back side. Hundreds of wires. The ICs are used for flip-flop circuit connected to rotary encoders.

The white boxes are power units. The card outside the case is "First Expansion module" which is going to be installed into center console box.

Schema of "My Cockpit". All switches, rotary encoders, and LEDs are fully programmable.

features

1) it is designed for 747-400 glareshield.
2) all knobs and buttons are fully programmable.
3) push switch for autopilot has LED in it (handmade).
4) Each SPD, HDG, ALT knob has push switch as real one .
5) all 7 segments LEDs and LEDs on push switches can be synchronized with FS98.
6) EPIC95 can controll mouse movement, so, all functions on the gauges can be asigned to the switches on my glareshield.  ex.: ND mode selecter, ND range selecter, left FD switch, EICAS mode etc.

Tiny idea
I asigned right FD switch to "co-pilot mode".  When I turn on right FD switch, my co-pilot calls "80", "V1", "Vr",  "flap up", "gear up", "transition altitude", "one thousand to go", etc.   My co-pilot is my wife ;-).
