Center Panel Project J

temporary report!!

I have built preliminary center panel.  It looks like real panel, but please look at the above photo closely. ...   The panel is made of paper!!   The CDU, 2nd EICAS, stand-by meters are also "fake" panel printed on paper  (these printed panels are going on sale soon from a Japanese FS distributer "Intercraft").    I'm going to replace these panels to handmade panel day by day (month by month ).

Smoked acrylic plates are inserted for PFD, ND and 1st EICAS. Of course these three displays are products of Project Magenta.  PFD and ND are displayed on a 19 inches CRT, and 1st EICAS is displayed on a 10 inches CRT.

This center panel is just only a temporary setting, but I'm very satisfied with the result.  It was one of my dream that I can look, touch and feel three-dimentional perspective of cockpit, and I can feel it now!   This cockpit is real sized!

I also purchased Jetliner Yoke.  This yoke is superb.  The "heavy" feeling reminds me of the real simulator I visited before.

And, I tested to connect projector for front view.  I looks good

Finally I purchased a new chair <g>.

My future Plan:

1) Insert LCD for 2nd EICAS, make 2 more CDU panel
2)Make analog moving meters.
3) Of course I must make gear lever.
4)Now I'm making a new glareshield part.  And I'm going to insert small lights on the glareshield to illuminate this front panel .

Night Flight with projector.

PFD, ND and EICAS of Project Magenta are displayed on this center panel.

This panel is just only a temporary setting, so the panel is made of thick paper!  I didn't sprayed any colors on it, but it looks relatively like "Boeing Color".(the real color is more close to the Boeing color than that of this photo)。

Stand-by meters, gear lever are also real sized papercraft..

Jetliner Yoke just fit to my cockpit.

I can look and feel three-dimentional perspective from these panels and glareshield. Now I'm making another glareshield with CSI's panel.

I'm going to make analog clock in near future.

The right side photo is real 747-400 simulator.

I could set my cockpit parts in proper position.

Two CRTs (19 and 10 inches) are installed in the center panel, and one CRT is installed in center pedestal.

The center CDU on the pedestal is my hand-made working CDU.  The two CDUs forward side of the throttles are "fake" printed dummy CDUs.
